MSC Quarterly: Schnell Panels - Thermal Performance Testing.

Schnell Group is a multinational Company headquartered in Marche, Italy that engaged MSC to conduct thermal performance testing for Schnell Panels.

As a new product to the Australian market, the team was interested to see how the thermal performance of Schnell Panels performed in comparison to more traditional products. The Panels compromise of Polystyrene within a concrete sandwich panelling which provide a high thermal performance.

Overall, our team assessed Brick Veneer, AAC Block, Fibre Cement sheet, and Schnell Panels on the same design across different climate zones in Victoria, Australia. The Schnell Panels outperformed all other cladding types and achieved the highest Star Rating across all scenarios.

Adopting these panels will reduce the heating and cooling demand for new dwellings and can help form part of the larger discussion of how Australia can adopt overseas technologies to improve the way we live.

We're excited to see a new product that can take off in the Australian market, especially in the context of the NCC2022 where 7 Star requirements are impacting the design and construction of new homes.
